Mickey Mantle.
Who was a big influence in your career? George Parker, VP of Creative at Hallmark.
What attracted you to Kuhn & Wittenborn? Two crazy friends, Whitey Kuhn and Dale Wittenborn.
What is your creative philosophy? FISH. Have a Focused message, an Intriguing creative premise, a Simple execution, and a
Human connection.
What makes a good brand? Start with a product or service that's consistently great. Find the emotional connection between that product or service and the consumer. Bombard the consumer with intriguing ideas that cement
that connection.
What brought you to Kansas City? The same thing that brought Whitey and Dale to Kansas City: Hallmark. We all started out in entry-level positions in the creative department there, and later became managers. Whitey and Dale got crazy and decided to start their own agency. Then I got crazy and decided to join them. It's been crazy ever since.
What has kept you at Kuhn &Wittenborn? We have a culture that allows people to poke a little fun at each other, regardless of title
or tenure.
What was it like growing up? Mostly chaos. There were lots of kids in my family.
What are your favorite and least favorite TV shows? Favorite: The Sopranos. Least favorite: any reality show.
Favorite movie: Fargo. It's a perfect movie. I've probably seen it 10 times.
What talent do you wish you had?
Playing music.
